86 Lou Peltier Crescent - Kildonan Green

Builder: Hilton Custom Homes
Selling Price: $264,467 Plus GST and Land
Type: Bi-Level/Cab-Over

Hilton Homes must have built the ‘Ashwood VI-B’ - 3 bedroom, 1660 sq. ft. bi-level with privacy in mind for the occupants of the master suite. Quite possibly for a family with teenage or older children. Double columns mark the front of this home and stained glass is featured in the panels of the entry door. The main entry door opens into the foyer and is immediately adjacent to the entry door from the garage. Beside those doors is a closet.

As you move further into the entry way, you encounter two stairways one leading into the main level and living area and one to the basement/lower level. The lower area has been insulated and has some roughed-in plumbing plus the furnace, water heater and electrical panel. Room to grow for the new owners.

Once into the central hallway on the first or main level on the right hand side, you will find in a separated section two bedrooms and a full bathroom. Along the top of the hallway wall bordering those bedrooms, there is a ‘plant ledge’ where the residents could place plants, pieces of art or other treasures. On your left is the formal dining room which features a large window that faces the front street. A room large enough for a big table and chairs and a cantilevered space for a china cabinet or hutch. Hardwood flooring in the dining room is optional. On the top of its back wall is another long ‘plant ledge’.

Continuing down the central hallway, you will find the great room, the kitchen and an informal eating space. The ceilings are ‘popcorn’ or stippled in neutral tones. The 13 ft. by 19 ft. (approximately) great room is spacious and made even more so by the huge triple window along its rear wall (facing the backyard). Depending on what buyers prefer, this room can include a gas fireplace and/or a built-in entertainment unit that provides several cubby holes or shelves to display or store electronics. There is plenty of wall space for a large flat screen television.

The dinette or informal eating area is between the great room and the kitchen. A table for 4 would easily fit into this space. Buyers would have the option of flat windows in the wall behind it or a bay window which would add to the price of the home. The back door is adjacent to this part of the home.

The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, maple cabinets, a large pantry closet, double stainless steel sinks and an island where food preparation can be done with cupboards underneath and room to put a couple of stools on its edge. Put all three spaces together and you have a gracious, comfortable, roomy area for the owners, their family and their friends to gather.

One of the features of this property is seven steps up from the main level - the master bedroom, its walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. It’s a space unto itself. The bedroom part is very large. enough to fit a king-size bed and several pieces of furniture. There are two big windows facing the street. Built right under these windows is a long window seat with a view to oversee how the ‘Green’ is growing and flourishing. The bathroom has two sinks, some cupboards, a ceramic shower surround and a casement window in between the vanity and the toilet.

The living space in this house is very appealing. Many little extras that it has would help make it ‘home sweet home’.
