43 Wood Sage Crescent – A luxury two storey residence.

As I walked up the driveway of this home, I thought, “This paved driveway is nicer than the flooring in my rec room.” I knew once I walked in the front door, I’d be in for a treat.

The entryway had a double door. One can be locked into place and opened as needed. I thought of the baby grand piano that I’d love to own. The hall was open to the second level. A large window above the doorway illuminated the area beautifully.

To the left was an etched glass wall which looked into the large formal dining area. The full length windows in that room added more light to the front of the house. The dark espresso maple columns on either side of the entryway complemented the cappuccino maple hardwood floors.

The large living area directly ahead featured an open ceiling and large floor to ceiling windows on two sides. On one side of the room a very impressive column of cultured stone (floor to ceiling) featured a pass through fireplace and an entertainment wall. To one side of the room, next to the hallway closet, was a media closet. Wiring for this entertainment wall was tucked away in here. Wiring included jacks to built in speakers around the entire house. Some speakers were wall mounted. Some were mounted flush into ceilings along with pot lighting.

On the other side of the pass through fireplace was the spectacular kitchen. It was done with espresso maple cabinetry with stainless appliances and fixtures with a bit of etched glass for good measure. The island was done in a differing wood finish, evidently to brighten the kitchen. I absolutely loved the mosaic backsplashes. Did I mention the large pantry with built in maple shelving? At the back of the kitchen, there was a small informal eating area.

Sliding maple doors separated the eating area from MY favourite room – an all season sunroom! The flooring was luscious – large, textured porcelain tiles! Floor to ceiling windows looked out to the lake. On one side, a door led to the very spacious outdoor deck. The sunroom and deck ran the full length of the back of the house. I’d say the length of the deck was only slightly longer than the sunroom. The deck was covered in some kind of outdoor vinyl which was comfortable to stand on.

And now to the upper level! The master bedroom and additional two bedrooms were separated from one another by a balcony “bridge”. Looking over one side of this bridge, you were admiring the living room. Looking over the other railing, you could check to see who was at the front door. The master bedroom was large. It had a walk-in closet. The master ensuite was lovely. There were two glass bowl sinks atop a quartz counter. There was a huge walk-in shower and a large jetted tub. The additional two bedrooms were a decent size and shared a full bathroom with tub surround shower/bath.

The lower level of this house had a walk out to the back yard off the lake. The rooms were spacious. Speakers and pot lights had been built into the ceiling. There was an additional (large) bedroom downstairs as well as a full bathroom. In addition, there was a room designated to be either a wine cellar or exercise room… your choice. Finally, this house boasted a three car garage, one a double door and the other a single door. I liked the fact that the garage had running water and high windows to get natural light into the area.

If you are looking for luxury, definitely go and look at this home. Regardless, put this home on your list of “must sees”. You will get many building and decorating ideas from it.
