59 Wood Sage Crescent – A modern double storey home “with the works”!
Luxury! If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll find it in this house. The main level consists of the entrance hall, the living room, formal dining area, and kitchen. The colours used by the decorator are “white on white” with maple, gray and black accents. The entry hall has a gorgeous floor of linen ceramic tile. The rest of the main level has lovely bleached maple hardwood flooring. Several walls have been given a “patina” of bleached cement. This, in particular, accents the fireplace which is black and the dark maple cupboards of the kitchen. There is a deck off the kitchen which overlooks the lake at the back of the house. The dining room acts as a bridge between the living room and kitchen and has a balcony which overlooks the lower level recreation area. Windows run from that lower level all the way up to the ceiling of the main level. This allows plentiful light to illuminate all living areas of this house.
When you’re ready to head upstairs, you’ll notice the wine/liquor storage area behind double glass doors at the base of the stairs up. Honestly, with all the light streaming in from the windows and glass doors, you’d need to refrigerate that area in some way. If you can afford this house, however, you can afford to do that.
On the second level of this home, there is a bonus room above the double part of the three car garage and a deck over the single part of the garage. Although the bonus room is approximately 20’ by 20’, you lose a little of its usable space since it has a slanted ceiling It would probably make a great playroom or hobby room.
Climb three more stairs to get to the bedroom level. The master bedroom is large and overlooks the lake. Its walk-in closet has built in dark maple organizers. There is rack to hang regular length dresses and another to hang full length ones. There is also a row above row for shirts, pants, etc. The master bath has two sinks and a desk vanity for putting on make-up. There is a walk in shower complete with rain head and side jets. The large soaker tub also has whirlpool jets. The two other bedrooms share a large bathroom with a tub surround bath/shower.
The lower level of this house is a walk-out to the lake level. It is basically divided into two areas by a fireplace wall which opens into both areas. The decorators placed a pool table comfortably into one area (you could have fit two!) and used the central area (below dining room) as a lounging/entertainment area. It is from this lounging area that you have access to outside. Although the back yard has been sodded, the patio area has not yet been finished. Against the opposite wall, there is a wet bar and the decorator has shown by example that there is room for one (or more) tables and bar stools at this end of the room.
There is a large bedroom downstairs and also a full bath. The storage/utility area is quite large and they have set up wiring for a sound system which does (and could continue to) run a sound system around the house.
Did I mention the three car garage? It is actually oversized. The single stall could easily fit a large van. The double stall has a lot of room at the front and sides. I literally drooled at all the space. I imagined my station wagon, bike trailer and two motorcycles along with all tools and outdoor furniture all stored with OODLES of space left over.
As I said right from the beginning, this is definitely a luxury home. The modern architecture won’t be for everyone, but this house is a definite “must see”.

While this home did not meet our own personal needs, it would make a fantastic home for young professionals seeking a large home that definitely sets itself apart from the standard cookie-cutter home.
Upon entry into the home, you are greeted by a lovely double sided ribbon fireplace which is shared with the family room. The beautiful 24 X 24 ceramic tile floor looks fabulous and is consistent throughout the entire home.
The living room and dining room have expansive 18 foot ceilings which make the space feel very large and the abundance of windows allows the natural light to flow through the entire main floor of this home.
The main floor laundry room is completely separate from the back entrance and is complete with sink, cabinets, and Caesar stone countertops.
The huge island kitchen is conducive to entertaining large crowds with ease. The glass tile backsplash is gorgeous as are the Caesar stone countertops.
The fully finished walk-out basement provides enough space for a large entertainment/media area, exercise room, extra bedroom, and full bath. The basement also has one of the neatest features I’ve ever seen – a storage shed with access from the basement utility room, complete with a single overhead garage door to the backyard. What a cool feature! It takes the proverbial “man-cave” to the next level!

This uniquely designed home would be best suited for the younger professional family with room to grow. The curb appeal of the home captures your attention immediately with the professionally finished landscaping leading to the formal entrance. When you enter the home, you will love the dining room light fixture immediately to your right, after being greeted by the see-through fireplace in the main entrance.
The pantry in the kitchen is awesome. It is the full length of the kitchen wall and offers plenty of kitchen storage.
The main floor plan is open with 2 family areas – with plenty of windows and glass. Both family areas are off the kitchen, and the main family area adds a red splash of color with the built in shelving unit.
The master bedroom on the 2nd level, is big and beautiful with an open view to the family room below. All the closet doors were self-closing, which was also pretty cool.
A really neat feature was the utility garage on the lower level of this walkout home. It was adjacent to the furnace room and had enough room to store all your lawn equipment and then some. It had a utility garage door accessible from the back yard. Very Cool!
Although this home did not suit our specific needs, if you are looking for ‘unique-ness’, this is the one for you!

54 Highland Creek - Bridgwater Forest
Builder: Artista Homes
Selling Price: $766,481 plus GST and land
Area: over 3600 sq ft
When I walked up to 54 Highland Creek there was a buzz of activity as I caught them in the middle of putting the final Parade of Homes touches for Saturday. Enzo from Artista Homes generously let me in to have a look around. If the price didn’t trigger that this house was going to be special, you knew it right from walking in the door. To the right of the entrance was the dining room where several people were feverously assembling furniture. The dining room has a glass wall looking over the family room toward the back of the house. As you walk into the kitchen, you look up to the soaring ceiling to see… a 10 foot aquarium! A second floor loft overlooks the kitchen with the aquarium acting as its wall. Very cool feature. The kitchen itself is rather fantastic in a cool white, but the high ceiling and aquarium really steal the show.
As you walk up the stairs, on the other side of the aquarium is a great loft space. Walking into the cosy master bedroom, the defining feature reveals itself to be the master bathroom. You step down into the master bathroom giving it high ceilings. The stand up shower looks great as it runs the whole height of the room. The feature piece is the poured concrete sink. Almost like a trough, water pours from one end and drains on the other. Magda from Interior Illusions explained the sink details to me while she staged the bathroom. The other bedrooms on the second floor are very big and have large, high quality closets. My two daughters are under three, but I suspect closet organization will feature prominently in my future.
Going from the second floor to the basement, the house features a great walk out with a fabulously landscaped backyard looking out onto the lake. There were several people wiring and setting up panel TV screens in the basement, so I suspect when Saturday rolls around there will be a very cool display to be seen.
Probably a little above my price bracket, but I love the details. Very well done. Worth a visit to check out the aquarium and the exquisite master bathroom.
